  • Member, Los Angeles Board of Police Commissioners, 16 years; 4 years as President

  • Member, California Advisory Committee to U. S. Civil Rights Commission

  • Member and Chair, Los Angeles Civil Defense & Disaster Board

  • Los Angeles County General Hospital Doctor Emeritus

  • Helped create: Los Angeles Mexican Civic & Patriotic Committee (Lifetime Member)

  • Member: Indio Senior Citizen's Advisory Commission and Indio Personnel Board

  • Los Angeles Mexican Chamber of Commerce

  • Mexican Welfare Committee

  • Donated three acres for a people's park in Indio, adjacent to his ranch; and for wells for the Indio city water supply. Wagon wheels surrounding his ranch house were his “Monument to the Pioneers” and highly recognized not only in the Coachella Valley but from as far away as Los Angeles
