July 5, 1990: Original articles of incorporation filed to the California Secretary of State

Sept. 15, 1990, Indio: First meeting of board of directors of the organization

2003: California State University, San Bernardino produces "A Vision of Achievement," a documentary about Dr. Carreon's life in honor of the naming of Dr. Carreon Academy and previews the CD at the naming ceremony. Time Warner/Desert Sands Unified School District shows the CD in a half hour presentation and interview with Dr. Doris Wilson, Superintendent, Kathy Felci, Dr. Carreon Academy Principal, and Martin Martinez, former Executive Director of the Dr. Carreon Foundation.

September 22, 2003: The Foundation awards a $50,000.00 grant to the Dr. Carreon Academy to be used for the school's library.

January 22, 2007: Unveiling of Dr. Carreon bust, created by Dr. Manuel Martinez Velasquez, is presented to the Dr. Carreon Academy by the City of Indio. It was made possible with grant funds received from the St. Augustine Band of Mission Indians.

June 7, 2007: Dr. Carreon Park is rededicated after a major improvement project by the City of Indio. It included a mural production on the water tank designed by artist Xavier Cortéz, a graduate from CVHS and CSUSB and a Carreon Scholar. It was combined with mosaic murals created on six different panels of art designed by Dr. Manuel Martinez Velasquez, the same artist who created the bust of Dr. Carreon for Dr. Carreon Academy. The works of art at the park depict a history of Dr. Carreon's life as it began in San Antonio, TX and his travels to Los Angeles and the Coachella Valley. It includes a timeline of Central, South American and Spanish history.

April 2007: The Coachella Valley Museum and Cultural Center's Mexican Pioneer Days celebration was held in Indio and included an exhibit of Dr. Carreonand his practice as a doctor at his office and home in Indio. The museum had received many of his personal belongings after his death.

2007: SeñoraLucilaCarreonwas honored as a nominee of the Alumni Hall of Fame Awards Dinner and recognized as Outstanding Community Leader.

May 14, 2011: The Dr. Carreon Foundation celebrates its 20th Anniversary by awarding $100,000 at a Student Awards Banquet at the La Quinta Resort.
